The Pathfinder is a multi-dimensional assessment package that takes a quantified approach to measuring the People, Process, and Platforms that are used within project management operations. This integrated package of deliverables provides multiple objective and subjective reference points that provide unique insight and clarity which is not achievable using the traditional interview based techniques.

Key Elements of Pathfinder

Project Manager Assessment: Boston University enjoys a tremendous reputation as a thought leader in Project Management curriculum and assessments. BU has created a project management competency assessment engine, which objectively measures a PM in the PMBOK’s nine knowledge areas. Individual competencies can be analyzed and organized into group’s trends, allowing for more coordinated and strategic personal and team development plans and can help a PMO target their training investments.

Insights Team Effectiveness Assessment: The team effectiveness assessment is designed to promote communication and improve team efficiency and effectiveness. This tool gathers anonymous feedback from the team via a web engine regarding 16 core operating areas and then benchmarks these areas against industry standard results. The statistical report reveals to the PMO where the teams agree and disagree regarding issues and establish how serious the teams feel these issues are. Many PMO’s re-run the assessment on a quarterly basis to track progress against those areas that are being addressed.

Cost

This program costs from $15,000 to $30,000 depending on the size and scope of the PMO assessment.

Duration

This program can be completed in as little as two weeks providing that all of the required stakeholders are available when needed. The primary schedule constraint is availability of key Project Management and Business Unit Personnel.
