PM Training

The Occam Group, Ltd. partners with Boston University for training content. These courses are accredited for continuing education credits as well as respected by PMI chapters everywhere. We can deliver a wide variety of project management and business analyst classes as custom onsite events.

Mentoring

The purpose of Mentoring Services is to work one-on-one with Project Managers to address issues with a specific project plan. It involves all activities necessary with getting a project plan into a state where it can be published to the Project Server. This includes assistance with creating work breakdown structures, translating them into deliverable-based and/or activity based task lists, task typing, applying sequencing logic, and resource loading your project plan.

EPM Tool Training

The complexity and customizability of Microsoft Project in distinct environments, along with the scarcity of experienced project managers with knowledge of the tool, often make traditional training options ineffective. The Occam Group, has developed custom courseware specifically tailored to the adult learner. This courseware focuses on the how the user will actually use the tool to do their job (as opposed to features and functions) and highlights the key connections between project management theory and practical application in the tool. The net effect is that students will leave the class with a much better understanding of how the EPM suite directly support the core job duties of a professional project or resource manager. Our Microsoft Project Professional and Server offerings will not be held on a public schedule as they are tailored and suited to the specific needs of each client.
